About Bobby and Amy
Bobby and Amy Richardson, from Columbus, Mississippi, married in 1990 and are the proud parents of Robby (A US Army National Guard Soldier), Austin (Randah, Landyn, & Easton), and Taylor (Madison).
Bobby and Amy have a Pentecostal upbringing. Bobby was raised under the leadership of John Rhodes from Victory Tabernacle Church in Columbus and Amy was raised in the Caledonia Assembly of God church until she was 11 when her family moved to the Columbus Church of God in Mississippi.
While at the Caledonia Assembly of God church, Amy remembers sitting next to her Aunt Shirley who played the piano for the church services. Her Aunt taught her what she knew and Amy went on to play by ear for some of the church services.
Bobby and Amy were a part of a Southern Gospel group of teenagers called "The Banners of Love" while in high school who traveled to parts of Mississippi and Alabama ministering. Bobby played the drums and would minister from the drums. Amy played the piano while ministering in song.
After their son, Robby, was born in 1992, Pastor Todd Steffy approached Bobby about becoming a youth pastor at Freedom Assembly of God in Columbus, Mississippi. That was when their ministry together began to form.
Bobby has a deep rooted heritage. His paternal grandmother, Estelle Richardson, helped to found the Butler Pentecostal church in Suqualak, MS. His maternal grandmother, May Crane, was a well known evangelist with a healing ministry.
In June of 2003, Bobby and Amy completed the Ministerial Internship of the Church of God becoming a credentialed minister while serving under Neal Ramage as youth pastor and worship leader at the Columbus Church of God (now Yorkville Heights Church of God). They moved to Natchez, MS that same year under the leadership of Larry Hays to become the youth pastor and worship leader. Three years later, this journey would take them to Christway Church of God in Flowood, MS under the leadership of Ken Hall as youth pastor. A year later, Bobby and Amy would find themselves back home as lead pastor of the Yorkville Heights Church of God in Columbus, MS. They served in this position from 2007 to 2016 where they felt the Lord leading them in a different direction.
God has anointed Bobby with a fun and engaging personality as a motivational speaker as well as a dynamic preacher. God has blessed Amy with an anointed voice to lead people into the very throne room of God. Their ministry is about bringing healing to the soul, mind, and heart. They have been through numerous hurts and victories during this journey to be able to relate to others in their journey.
You can also find Bobby and Amy at events throughout the United States with New Journey Radio, a ministry started by Bobby February, 2017. Bobby and/or Amy are available for your next event.
